Objectives
Smart textiles and intelligent clothing are firmly established elements in today's electronic world. It is commonly understood, that this particular application field is important for the future of both industries: textiles and electronics. Succeeding in this highly multidisciplinary field, is the challenge research and industry is facing equally.
The Workshop on Smart Textiles will give an overview on the current developments in the field of smart textiles with a particular focus on the potential application of organic electronics. Based on the general outline of a so-called smart textiles system the various components like actuators, sensors, connections, energy storage and generation, as well as communication are addressed. Top-notch research in materials and technologies for achieving the components' functions will be presented, by addressing the different components per application area.
Workshop topics include:
- Organic materials for Smart Textiles
- Light emitting devices (OLED, Displays) for Smart Textiles
- Energy Generation (Photovoltaics, Piezoelectricity)
- Storage of Energy (Batteries, Capacitors)
- Sensors
- Connections
- Transistors
