LAST MINUTE POSTER SUBMISSION DEADLINE

30 May 2025

Although the EU targetted to produce 30% of its energy from renewables by 2030, currently nearly every stage of food production relies on gas and oil. Thus, any increase in food production would most certainly mean an increase in fossil fuel use and, as a result, greenhouse gas emissions. Agrivoltaics is an emerging field that combines the innovations in renewable energy solutions with Agriculture in order to lead to sustainable crops growth by effectively utilizing land and landscapes.

The Special Workshop topics include:

  • Innovative Energy solutions (Printed Organic Photovoltaics) for Mediterranean Greenhouses
  • Integration concepts of Argivoltaics
  • Optical Engineering to promote crop growth
  • Energy distribution systems in Greenhouses
  • Industry needs on Agrivoltaics
  • Business Models and Sustainability

For more than 20 years in the Organic and Printed Electronic different Smart Objects were investigated for different purposes. The potential applications are Sensing, Logistics, Smart Packaging and Gaming. None of these objects reached the mass production. Why?

This workshop will focus on the activities to make printed electronics successful.

Part 1:

This part deals with the design of Printed Sensors. Especially the steps needed in the production will be described. Very important is the question if additional components, like Batteries, Sensors or Electrochromic Displays ECD, shall be directly printed on the substrate, “Printegration”, or assembled by Pick&Place technologies in a separate step.

Part 2:

In this part examples for applications will be shown and discussed. The examples are taken from funded projects, especially EU H2020 projects. Finaly the association HOPE-A will point out how important international cooperation is.

Organizing Committee

Prof. Stergios Logothetidis, Department of Physics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece
Dr. Martin Krebs, PrintaBattery, Germany
Mr. Evangelos Mekeridis, Organic Electronic Technologies (OET), Greece

As the development of novel nanomaterials, devices and products advances, the transparency, traceability, safety, and sustainable environmental profile throughout their lifecycle becomes increasingly critical. Moreover, the emerging field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Manufacturing Technologies (AI3D25) that will dominate the robust design, fabrication and manufacturing of advanced materials and products for all applications, necessitates the establishment and widespread adoption of standardized information and data exchange methods across the entire value chain, from materials developers to the end-users.

This Special Workshop, which is a common Workshop for all NANOTEXNOLOGY events (ISFOE25, AI3D25 and NN25), will bring together internationally acknowledged excellent stakeholders from Academia, Research Institutes and Industry to explore the essential role of Open Innovation & Standardization for multi-scale characterization & modelling (ranging from the atomic to the macro-scale or multiscale) of Advanced Materials (inorganic, organic, polymers, composites, nanomaterials, etc) and Products.

Moreover, it will provide significant insights on the transformative potential of Digital Passports, to improve the material and product quality, promote safe-by-design aspects, and streamline regulatory compliance for materials and products for a broad range of applications, as Organic & Printed Electronics, Energy, Lighting, Displays, Electronics, Automotive, Healthcare, Smart Textiles, Wearables, IoT, Smart & Energy Efficient Buildings, Food Packaging, Sustainable Agriculture and many more.
